Hotel Description

Disney's Contemporary Resort is an ultra-modern Disney Deluxe Resort, made up of a towering A-frame high-rise building—the iconic Contemporary Tower—and complemented by a garden wing annex. This lakeside Resort is the only hotel to have the Walt Disney World® Monorail System pass through the main lobby.

Adjacent to the Resort is Disney's Contemporary Convention Center. The facility includes full catering services, state-of-the-art audio/video equipment and 115,000 square feet of event and meeting space, including four ballrooms and numerous modern breakout rooms that can be divided, decorated and equipped to meet all business needs.

After the meeting, your guests can take in views of the nearby Space Mountain attraction and Cinderella Castle, as the Resort overlooks 4.5 miles of shoreline along Bay Lake and Seven Seas Lagoon. Your attendees can then pick up the monorail on the fourth floor and head to Magic Kingdom® Park and Epcot®.

The Resort features pools, restaurants, recreational facilities, a health club, tennis courts, watercraft rentals, a 24-hour high-tech game room and a 17-foot-high curving water slide. There's even a wading pool for little ones.

The Resort's retro-futuristic architectural structure shadows the inherent innovation of its design. Conceived as a prefabricated hotel, the rooms of the 14-story Contemporary Tower were originally built off-site—under the direction of the U.S. Steel Corporation, architect Welton Becket and Walt Disney—and were later hoisted and fitted into place by a crane. The original plan was for the "pod" rooms to be able to be removed from the structure as needed for refurbishing, but instead every room is permanently affixed in place.

Disney's Contemporary Resort has been awarded the prestigious Florida Green Lodging designation by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, having demonstrated their commitment to protect Florida's resources through a defined set of environmental practices which addresses five areas of concern including water and energy conservation, education and awareness, waste reduction and indoor air quality.
