Disney, Fox, and James Cameron to Bring "Avatar" to Life at Disney Parks

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Worldwide is joining forces with visionary filmmaker James Cameron and Fox Filmed Entertainment to bring the world of AVATAR to life at Disney Parks. Through an exclusive agreement announced today by Disney, Cameron's Lightstorm Entertainment and Fox, Disney will partner with Cameron and producing partner Jon Landau to create themed lands that will give Theme Park Guests the opportunity to explore the mysterious universe of AVATAR firsthand. Disney plans to build the first AVATAR themed land in Disney's Animal Kingdom at the Walt Disney World® Resort in Florida. With its emphasis on living in harmony with nature, Disney's Animal Kingdom is a natural fit for the AVATAR stories, which share the same philosophy. Construction is expected to begin by 2013.

Victoria & Albert's Receives Its Eleventh Five-Diamond Rating

Victoria and Albert's, the gourmet dining experience at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, has been awarded Five-Diamond status from the American Automobile Association (AAA). This is the eleventh consecutive year that the acclaimed restaurant has earned the coveted designation. Victoria & Albert's is Central Florida's only Five-Diamond restaurant and one of only 40 nationwide. The restaurant is also ranked by Zagat as one of the Nation's Top 100 restaurants.

Kouzzina by Cat Cora on Disney's Boardwalk Introduces Enhanced Private Dining Experience

Celebrity chef, Cat Cora, recently unveiled a new private group dining room at her exclusive restaurant, Kouzzina, located at Disney's BoardWalk Inn. The new Coranation Room is ideal for private events and can accommodate up to 24 event attendees. Groups meeting at any of the nearby Disney Convention Resorts can enhance their Kouzzina experience with a private dessert party set against the spectacular entertainment backdrop of IllumiNations at Epcot® or Fantasmic! at Disney's Hollywood Studios⃦. Viewing for both shows is within walking distance of the restaurant.

Splitsville to Debut at Downtown Disney® area in 2012

This fall construction will start on Splitsville, a 50,000-square-foot upscale entertainment center that combines bowling with billiards, dining, music and nightlife. Splitsville will join a growing line-up of new Downtown Disney® area options, including new shops and restaurants, plus AMC Theaters' first fork-and-dine theater in Florida.

Largest Expansion in Magic Kingdom® Park History Set to Double Fantasyland Size

The largest expansion in Magic Kingdom® Park History will bring new attractions, entertainment and dining opportunities to the world's most popular Theme Park. Concentrated in Fantasyland, the centerpiece of the expansion will be a new ride-through attraction based on Disney's animated classic The Little Mermaid. The expansion is scheduled for completion in 2013 and will offer a variety of private-event venues and entertainment options for large groups.
