DeRita Summerlot, Senior Support Assistant at Orlando-based Gilbane Building Company, has helped plan five Disney events in the past year alone for her company. When it came time to plan the annual holiday party, Summerlot knew she could create something really special for her employees at Disney.

For their company holiday party this year, the group utilized the Canada Terrace at Epcot at Walt Disney World Resort.
“The fact that the venue was outside made it a great location for our cocktail reception for attendees to enjoy before the buffet dinner,” said Summerlot. “Being so close to the fireworks display after dinner was a true highlight for everyone.”
Summerlot also gave advice to other planners who might be considering hosting a holiday party at a Disney destination. “As long as you have a basic goal for your party, the Disney team is able to put together a fabulous event,” said Summerlot. “I consistently have amazing experiences working with them and can’t imagine holding a holiday party anywhere else.”
