If you’ve been following our “Behind the Scenes with Disney Meetings” series, you saw that in Kyla Heap’s last adventure, she met with Disney Show Director Ken Malquist and Disney Event Consultant Jaclyn Dorsch to begin planning her organization’s event. This year, Kyla decided to host her event at the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular! Theater at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for an adventure-themed private group experience.

Now that Kyla knows the direction of her event, it’s all about planning the details to create magical moments for her attendees. Kyla met with Disney Floral Manager Rose Mogol to learn about several ways to enhance her event with adventure-themed décor, floral centerpieces, table linens, gift baskets, and customized favors for her attendees – all the pieces needed to tie the theme together.
Kyla was also invited to a menu tasting session with Disney Catering Sous Chef Rob Alvarado. The menu featured a sampling of entrees, salads, and desserts highlighting adventurous, Moroccan-themed flavors. “As a Disney Chef, I love being able to create that magic and create those magical moments through my food,” said Alvarado.
Planners can meet with the catering team to decide which food and beverage options should be prepared for the event’s menu, including any special dietary needs and allergies to be aware of when planning the menu.
With many creative options to choose from, Kyla can make her event personalized for her attendees and tell her organization’s story in a fun and entertaining way. “[Disney] is here to make the event planner’s job easier, help bring your meeting to the next level, and help you tell your story,” said Dorsch.
