Like you, I’m always researching the most innovative industry trends to deliver more purposeful and impactful meetings to attendees. Although attendees of all ages can find value in convening at any of our Disney destinations, there is one noticeable generation that truly connects with their Disney meeting experience – our millennial attendees. 

During my research, I came across the article “What Makes a Millennial Meeting Venue?” by Successful Meetings, which explains more about this important generation of attendees. This article mentioned that millennials (those born between 1980 and 2005) are now the largest generation in the U.S., comprising more than one-third of the current workforce. Due to their significant impact in the workplace and on business, it’s essential that we must continue to factor in this growing professional demographic when planning ahead—especially when it comes to selecting the location and venue for a meeting or conference. 

According to the article, planners should ensure that any venue they choose incorporates the following elements: fun, flexibility, interactivity, uniqueness, responsibility, convenience, and authenticity. These seven key attributes, the author explains, are the most effective way to engage and reach this influential audience.

But, we think there’s one more key attribute that most appeals to the millennial audience—that’s emotional connection.
